The obligatory intro post

From Wikipedia:

A geek is an individual who is fascinated by knowledge and imagination, usually electronic or virtual in nature.

Creativity (or creativeness) is a mental process involving the generation of new ideas or concepts, or new associations between existing ideas or concepts.

Creativity and geekiness are not mutually exclusive. Contrary to the stereotype of the fact-focused, ultra-logical geek, today's geek is more well-rounded and socially adept than ever before, thanks to the proliferation of information and inspiration on the Internet.

This is the blog of a member of the new generation of geeks. I spend all day at work sitting at the computer, coding. My mind is wandering elsewhere, wondering what the weather will be like this weekend and whether I can find somewhere interesting to take pictures. Thinking about my website, and wishing that my web design skills were up to par, and wondering how I can fix that. Wondering just how long it's been since I picked up a crochet hook and worked on the blanket I started crocheting last year (answer: since about two weeks after I started it).

What am I hoping for by starting this blog? Fame? Fortune? A lifetime supply of cheese? At the very least, I want to share my creative endeavors and inspirations with others, and I hope that someone out there finds it interesting, helpful and inspiring.
