Day 10: A wide-angle portrait

Today continued the streak of absolutely icky, gross weather, and I didn't get a single outdoors shot that wasn't blurry or boring. However, I had come across a post on the Digital Photography School blog about Using Wide Angle Lens Distortion Creatively, and decided to do a little experimenting on my cat, Oliver.

He generally has a perplexed look on his face, and the distortion really emphasized his natural state of confusion. Plus, it slimmed him down quite a bit - he's a pretty large kitty. I'd love to use a wide-angle lens to take pictures of dogs and little kids - it would make for some interesting, whimsical pictures.
